Emergency plumbing, answered by a plumber at any hour

When water is running where it shouldn't, the first few minutes matter more than the next few hours. Our emergency line is answered by a licensed plumber who will talk you through stopping the damage, then dispatch the nearest technician with the right gear.

The Idaho winter problem

Most of our winter emergencies trace back to one cold snap. Hose bibs that weren’t disconnected from their hoses freeze and split inside the wall, and the first sign is water pouring into the crawl space the next time someone turns the spigot on in spring, or sooner if the split is behind the shutoff. Supply lines in crawl spaces and near foundation vents freeze when temperatures hold in the single digits for a few nights. Pipes in exterior walls of older North End and Bench homes with thin insulation freeze when a cabinet door stays closed and the warm air can’t reach them.

A frozen pipe that hasn’t burst yet is an emergency you can still win. Call us before thawing anything with a torch or heat gun; we’ll walk you through it or come out to thaw it safely and check the line for damage.

Sewage backups

When the sewer lateral blocks, every drain in the house becomes a path back up, and the lowest one wins, usually a basement floor drain or a ground-floor shower. The immediate job is to stop the flow, clear the blockage and get the line draining. Then we camera it, because a backup is almost always a symptom of roots, a broken section or a belly in the line that will do it again.

How we respond

A plumber answers the line, not a call center. They’ll help you stop the water, tell you the after-hours rate, and give you an honest arrival time based on where our trucks are. In Boise and Meridian that’s often within the hour; in Caldwell, Kuna or Emmett it may be longer, and we’ll say so. The technician arrives with the parts for the common failures, fixes what’s broken, and leaves you with a written quote for any follow-up work that can wait for daylight.

Emergency Plumbing questions we hear a lot

What should I do before you arrive?

Shut off the water. For a single fixture, use the valve under the sink or behind the toilet. For anything bigger, close the main shutoff, usually in the crawl space, garage, basement or at the meter near the street. If water reached anything electrical, shut off that circuit too. For sewage backups, stop running water anywhere in the house. If you smell gas, leave the house and call the gas utility first.

Is emergency service more expensive?

After-hours calls carry an after-hours rate, and we tell you what it is on the phone before anyone drives out. The repair itself is still quoted flat before work begins, the same as a daytime call.

Which calls are true emergencies?

Active leaks you can’t stop, sewage coming up, no water to the house, a burst or frozen pipe, a leaking water heater and anything involving gas. A dripping faucet, a slow drain or a running toilet can wait for a regular appointment, and we’ll say so if you call, so you’re not paying an after-hours rate for a non-urgent problem.

Hear a drip, smell sewage, or just out of hot water?

A licensed plumber will tell you what's wrong, what it costs to fix and what can safely wait. Upfront pricing before any work starts.
